Life used to be fun for teenagers．They used to have money to spend，and free time to spend．They used to wear teenage clothes, and meet in teenage coffee bars and discos （迪斯科舞厅）．But for many young people，life is harder now．Jobs are difficult to find． There is not so much money around．Things are more expensive, and it is hard to find a place to live in．Teachers say that students work harder than they used to．They are less interested in politics and more interested in passing exams．They know that good exam results may get them better jobs．

For some，the answer to unemployed is to leave home and look for work in one of the Britain's big cities．Every day hundreds of young people arrive in London from other parts of Britain，looking for jobs．Some find and stay．Others don’t find it，and go home again．

A glass of milk

　　During our lifetime, we should help people in need．As a return, we may get help some day in the future．In my opinion, everyone should be kind enough to treat others warm-heartedly．Next let's enjoy this beautiful story．

　　One day, a poor boy was trying to pay for school by selling from door to door．He was hungry so he decided to ask for a meal at the next house．However, when a nice young woman opened the door, he changed to ask for a drink of water．She thought he looked so hungry so she brought a large glass of milk．He drank it a little slowly and then asked, “How much do I pay?”“You needn't do that,”she said．“Mother has taught me to be kind．”“Then thank you very much,”he said．

　　As the boy, Howard Kelly, left the house, he felt strong and believed that people could be kind before he was about to give up．
