He writes that the fourth Thursday in November will be a national holiday. All the stores, banks, schools and offices close. The people can spend Thanks giving Day with their families.

　　Thanksgiving Day is a family holiday, for it is customary for all members of the family together at the home of the father and mother. All over the country, husbands and wives, grandchildren and great grand children travel from city to town, from town to village, or from village to farm to spend the day at their old home. Many speak to their parents or grandparents by long-distance telephone.

　　On that day, the family eats a large traditional dinner with the turkey and pumpkin pie. After dinner, in most homes, there are traditional games. Many people go to football games. 　　One of the most famom scientists to study adaptations(适应能力)was Charles Darwin(达尔文)．He was born in England in 1809．He wasn’t the best student in his school, but when he was 16, his father sent him to a medical school．Charles liked spending time outdoors observing(观察)nature more than attending medical calsses．He dropped out without graduating．
