I love to write!Ever since I was a five-year-old girl, I wrote stories in my notebooks and on small pieces of paper.I told stories to my friends. As a grown-up, I have written over 100 books! That's a lot!As a teacher, it's my goal to encourage all of my students to love to write.

Writing is easy if you're careful enough, I told them.Everyone I meet is a possible character.

Everything I see or do is a possible scene in a book.Start looking around you. You'll be amazed at what you discover.

Anyone can be a writer. You just put your pencil on your paper and write what you like to read, step by step:

●Create great characters. If you know your characters well, they'll write the story for you.

●Interest the reader right at the beginning. You can start your stories with dialogue or action. If you can make the reader ask questions, then he has to keep reading to find out the answers.

●Follow the steps. The steps for every story are almost the same:Introduce the characters and the conflict(争端);things get worse; all seems lost; the hero saves the day!

●Balance is the key.

Remember, when writing, it doesn't hurt to add some humor(幽默).

Mrs Smith often felt lonely when her husband went to work. The room was small. She always spent only half an hour tidying it. She could not get up early in the morning, so Mr Smith had to cook breakfast by himself. She usually had some bread and milk for lunch and only cooked supper for herself and her husband. They had no television. Mr Smith always went to bed at nine.

It was a winter morning. The sun was shining and it was warmer outside than it in the room. The woman sat on the step of a shop, looking at the busy traffic. At that moment a man with a map in his hand was coming towards her.

“Excuse me, Madam. Could you tell me how to get to the nearest hospital, please?”

Mrs Smith looked at him up and down. “He looks like a farmer,” the woman said to herself. “Let me laugh at him.”

Then she turned to him and said: “Lie down in the middle of the street and you will soon be sent to a hospital. ”

“Please set an example to me, then,” said the man.

She had to tell the way to him and then she said: “I think you've been in a city for the first time. It's much more beautiful than the field. Is that right?”

Japanese students work very hard but many are unhappy. They feel heavy pressures(压力)from their parents to do well in school. Most students are always being told by their parents to study harder so that they can have a wonderful life.Though this may be good ideas for those very bright students, it can have terrible results for many students because they are not gifted(有天赋的)enough.

As it is reported, a number of students killed themselves.Others try to get the feelings of taking drugs(毒品).Some join the groups of trouble-makers and turn to crime(犯罪).Many of them have tried very hard at school but have failed in the exams and have their parents lose hopes.Such students felt that they are hated by everyone else they meet and they don't want to go to school any longer. They become dropouts(辍学学生).

It is surprising that most Japanese parents are worried about their children. They do not help them in any way. Many parents feel that they are not able to help their children and that it is the teachers' work to help their children. To make matters worse, a lot of parents send their children to those schools opening in the evenings and on weekends. They only help students to pass exams and never teach students any real sense(判断)of the world. It is a great surprise that almost three quarters of middle school students have been to such kind of schools.

Many Japanese schools usually have rules about everything from the students' hair to their clothes and the things in their school bags.Child psychologists(心理学家)now think that such strict rules are harmful to the feelings of the students.Almost 40% of the students said that no one had taught them how to get on with others, how to tell right from the wrong, how to show love for others, even for their parents.

"I don't like my parents. They always tell me I should do this, and should not do that. It sometimes makes me angry," said Zhang Hua,a middle school student in Guangzhou. Do you have the same problem? Perhaps your parents had the same problem when they were your age long ago. Why does it seem that some parents are not so friendly in their children's eyes?

One of the biggest things is when someone becomes a parent,he/she likes worrying things. They worry about everything about you, from the time you were born. They do a lot for you, though something would make you angry, because they care about you and worry about you. They worry about your choice of friends, the food you eat, your work at school, how much sleep you get, etc. All these things are part of your life. They want you to grow up healthily and happily.

So how can you make things easier on yourself? It's easier than you think. Just make sure your parents know what you're doing. Get them to know your friends. Phone if you stay somewhere else so that your parents don't call every hospital in the phone book looking for your body. Say sorry to them when you make mistakes. Take responsibility(责任) for what you have done. Talk about your ideas with them. They may talk about theirs with you.

Most of all,try to think about why your parents do this or do that. They are still practising being parents and need help you can give them. Someday, when you become a parent, they may be able to help you how to get on with your children.

1.Why doesn’t Zhang Hua like her parents?
