  Drought in Guangdong

The drought in Guangdong is very serious.A video-conference for "Fighting the Drought" was held last Friday in Guangzhou, the capital city.

The report issued by the conference members said that the drought had hit more than 1.2 million acres of arable land.In the whole province,889,000 people are relying on a discontinuous supply of drinking water. The water stored in 303 reservoirs is 14.4 billion cubic meters,1.5 billion cubic meters less than in 2003.
