　　Many, many years ago, people thought the moon was far, and they didn't think it was a place to live, or a place to go.

　　The first planes are quite slow. It is a joke to fly to the moon in a plane like that.

　　Then the long jet planes come. Can a jet plane fly to the moon? No, it can't fly so far!

　　The men in the space labs make planes. Do they think of a ship to take people to the moon? Yes ! A ship like this can fly to the moon and back about a week. To make a ship is a hard job．First, they must draw many sheets of plans. Then they make the parts and put them in place. At last, the ship is all set to go! On the day of the take-off , many people come to cheer for the men in the ship.

　　People all over the world watch the ship fly to the moon. The first man goes down his steps till he stands on the moon! When the men come back from space, many people are waiting to greet them.

　　The first trip to the moon is the first step to the space. And someday we may go to Mars, and then to the other stars!

　　James wrote a play for television about a family who came to England from India, and the play was very interesting. It was bought by an American TV company(公司) .

　　James was then invited to go to New York to help them. He lived in Washington, which is an hour away from New York by air. The plane was going to take off at 8:30 in the morning. So he had to be at the airport at about 7:30. He ordered a taxi for 6:30 and went to sleep. He forgot to wind the clock, and it stopped after midnight. Also the driver of the taxi had to work very late that night and he got up very late the next morning.
