　　Mr Smith moved to another town, and soon he needed a new doctor, so he went to see one. He sat down in the waiting room and looked around. The doctor's degrees (学位证书) were on the wall. Suddenly Mr Smith remembered: there had been a classmate with the same name in his class at the school, and he had become a doctor!

　　As he went in to see the doctor, he remembered a young, handsome (英俊的) student, and was sad to see how old and heavy(迟钝的) and grey (头发灰白的) this man looked. He said to him, “Good morning, Doctor. Did you go to King High School.?”

　　The doctor answered, “Yes, I did.”

　　“Were you there from 1942 to 1946?”

Mr Smith asked.

　　“Yes, I was. ” the doctor answered, “How did you know?”

Perhaps　the　only　test　score　that　I　remember　is　the　55　when　I　was　in　high　school.
The　test　was　the　final　for　a　course.　I　remember　waiting　anxiously　as　my　teacher　Mr.　Right　passed　out　our　papers　one　by　one.　It　was　a　rather　difficult　test.　I　heard　my　classmates　groaning,　and　I　could　tel　by　the　groans　that　the　scores　weren’t　looking　good.

For　years,　my　father　was　always　that　way.　It　didn’t　matter　what　others　did,　it　only　mattered　what　I　did　and　that　I　did　it　excelently.
