I love collecting old paving bricks (铺路砖 ). It is my favourite hobby. I started it last year when I needed to help our teacher to hold a fair display (展览 ) for our school. A few years earlier, I read an article about paving bricks in a fashion magazine. I found it was very interesting, so I decided to do the display on the bricks. But we didn’t have so many bricks for a good display. Then I decided to go out and look for them.

?? Now I have collected hundreds of bricks. Most of them are from Ohio (俄亥俄洲 ). Actually , there are more than one thousand different kinds of bricks in Ohio. Sometimes, I bought some old but special bricks on the Internet. The price is from 5 to 10 dollars for one brick.

?? Sometimes, people can’t understand why I buy bricks. I must say that it’s my favourite hobby.

A very old lady won a million dollars in a lottery(彩票). Her son and her husband heard the news on the radio.
“How are we going to tell your mother?” the man asked. “The news might kill her!”
“That’s true,” the son said. “Perhaps we’d better speak to her doctor about it. He’ll know how to bring her the news gently.”

“Oh, that’s an easy one,” the old lady said, “I’d give most of it to you, doctor, because you have been so good to me all these years, doctor!” But the doctor was now lying on the floor. He had died of shock.
