     根据短文内容,从下框的A~F选项中选出能概括每一段主题的最佳选项。选项中有一项为多余选项。
A. Stay busy.
B. Wear what fits you.
C. You can possibly be attractive.
D. Great posture makes you attractive.
E. Helping others makes you attractive.
F. Attention to others makes you attractive.
1.
It is possible to be an attractive person when you are in a job interview or in a place where you just
want to gain the respect of others. It’s not about how much money you make, and it’s not about your
daddy is. What it is about is some simple things in your life. It just has a lot to do with being confident in
who you are.
2.
Ask questions about others when you stay with them and listen to them patiently. Talking about
yourself all the time shows that you pay no attention to others. Shifting attention from yourself to others
makes you attractive. It indicates that you are humble (谦逊的). If you come across as a know-it-all
(even if you really do know it all), it really pushes people feel that you care, you are humble and you
can be trusted.
3.

Have you ever seen a potentially very attractive person, but he has terrible posture (姿势)?It’s
all ruined, isn’t it? Or perhaps you have seen someone who may be quite ugly but he has great posture
and so suddenly he is really attractive? It’s true. Your posture says a lot about you - it says whether
you have confidence, or simply if you really care. Talking physically, it is one of the most important
physical characteristics you need.
4.

Keeping doing things shows that you have power. You’re told to stay busy to ward off (防止,
避免) depression and feelings of anxiety. But did you know you should also stay busy to be really
attractive? It’s true. Always have something to do. Have you ever seen someone just sitting around,
doing nothing? How unattractive! Always be busy with something, Even if for some reason you have
to make something up.
5.
Wear clothes that fit you. Too tight, people are distracted. Too loose, you just look sloppy
(肥大而难看的). For women, wearing tight pants or shirts is not attractive. Slightly loose things are
best, or other things that just fit you and your shape well but not tight. Men and women with taste and
style really don’t know why some guys think their pants sagging down are somehow attractive. It just
tells people you don’t really care. You are following the crowd. Wear things that fit you nicely.

A public high school in the rural town of Boonsboro,Maryland, offers a special program recently. Top students in the ninth and tenth grades can attend single-sex classes for math, science,English and social studies.
The aim is to help teenagers keep their mind on their work by keeping males and females apart. Rebecca Brown chooses the students for what Boonsboro High School calls the Academy. “What we really want to do is take that top group of kids and take them to the very highest level they can achieve here,so that they’re prepared for college,” she said. They need high marks and test scores and strong teacher recommendations. They also need to be involved in activities.
Michael Bair has been at Boonsboro High School for twenty years and directs the Academy. His ninth-grade English class for boys centers on books that he believes boys find interesting. “The novels they’re reading now,are very manly novels. They’re novels that deal with the arrogance(傲慢)of man and the pride of man.” One of those books, for example,is “The Call of the Wild” by Jack London. This classic story tells of a dog stolen from his home and sold to work as a sled dog in Canada’s Klondike Gold Rush.
On this day,the students are working in small groups. Vincent and Logan explain why they’re drawing pictures that relate to the story. Vincent said,“The main character,Buck, gets abducted(绑架),? and they send him off to the Yukon in a train. So I’m drawing part of the story where he’s in the train. It gets you to visualize the setting of the story and gets you to think more about what’s going on in the story, the important events of the story.”“ Instead of just doing work sheets about it,this is a lot more fun,” Logan added happily.
Morgan Van Fleet likes being in the Academy. She says boys and girls act differently when they are together in a classroom. “To me,it almost seems like it’s hindering(妨碍)? your chances at developing yourself because you’re more focused on ‘Oh,I wish they’d shut up. Oh,what do they think of me?’ instead of focusing on what’s the homework or what’s going on in this class, what’s the lesson.”

In this week's program the host talks about internship(实习医生的职务) and part-time jobs with our guests Jing Long, Dana Stevens and Meng Fanxi.

Most students gain experience by way of internship or part-time jobs during their school time but few know clearly how to choose part-time jobs, what one should pay attention to in working, and how the jobs relate to one's future.

Jing Long, who comes from Siemens in China, says that things you do for internship or part-time jobs are not necessarily what would be closely linked to your future career. But experience you gain, friends you make and also the time you spend getting to know the society and to learn how to communicate with your workmates will be beneficial (有益的) to your later studies and your final entrance to the society.

Economic doctor Dana Stevens gives us some good advice on how to be a successful employee. Don't oversell(过度表现) yourself; don't claim skills you don't have; just be honest to yourself and to your employer. He says when a student has his first job, he will soon realize that one's attitude to work and one's personality are more important than skills because one is always working in a team with others.

Internship is necessary but one should also balance the relation between the internship and the lessons in school. Vice President of China Agriculture University Meng Fanxi says that as a student one should make good use of time. It's very hard to go back to school after you get used to earning money.
