1．When did Liu Xiang become the world record holder?

    China’s Olympic champion，Liu Xiang broke（打破）the men’s 110一meter hurdles（跨栏）．world record with the time of l2.88 seconds on July l l 2006．Many people think he will break the world record at the Beijing Olympics in 2008，but Liu did it two years earlier．

    Though Liu is the world record holder now，some people still think that he has a slow start during the race．They think Liu should run faster during the first 30 meters，but his coach（教练），Sun Haiping doesn’t think so．

   “We really know how to make Lib run faster during the first 30 meters．”Sun said．“A special training will do，but Liu may lose his good sense of rhythm（节奏感）is he does so．”“All the training will follow my plan．”said the coach．“The 2008 Games are really important．It’s possible that Liu Xiang will set a new record in 2008，but training for the Games has to follow the set plan．”

Liu Xiang has been a world record holder．but he still dreams of winning the men’s 110一meter hurdles at the 2008 Games．
