A Rapunzel

A man and his wife live in a house next door to a witch. The wife wants to eat the lettuce from the witch's garden. The man decides to steal some of the plants for his wife.

The witch sees him stealing. She asks the man to give her their baby. The man is scared so he agrees. The witch takes their little girl away and calls her Rapunzel.

The witch locks Rapunzel away in a tower in the centre of a forest. Rapunzel's golden hair grows longer and longer. The witch climbs up Rapunzel's hair.

A prince sees the witch climb the tower. He climbs up the tower with Rapunzel's hair too. He visits Rapunzel every day. The witch finds out and she is very angry.

The witch cuts Rapunzel's hair and sends her into the forest. She tricks the prince and throws him out of the tower. The prince falls on some thorns. It makes him blind. He walks around the forest for a long time.

The prince hears Rapunzel singing in the forest. Rapunzel sees the prince and she cries with tears of happiness. Her tears touch his eyes and he can see again.


They live happily ever after in the prince's kingdom.
