As Americans’ health and fitness levels continue to decline, many of those in the worst shape are afraid to go to a “regular” gym to improve their poor health. They somehow feel embarrassed and don’t know how to begin. For these individuals, boutique gyms that specialize in particular parts of population may be good choices. These special gyms provide a more personal setting tor those returning to a healthy lifestyle or starting a fitness program for the first time. Personal training and individualized attention are key features of these new kinds of gyms.
Bulldog Fitness, a gym for kids only, is using the latest trend in video games that provide a workout to engage their young members. Playstation2 Game Bikes, the Treadwall (a rock climbing wall that moves with you), and DDR Dance Machines are customers’ favorites.

If America is going to change its current health decline, the public and healthcare industry needs to pay more attention to the unique needs of customers,” says Dr. Sal Arria, CEO and founder of the International Sports Science Association(IS-SA). When young people in the United States gather for fun, there is a good chance that they will soon be dancing. If there are no musicians, they will play records. If there are no records, some one is certain to have a radio. One way or another there will be dancing.

The ways that boys and girls dance will often change every year or two. You may hear them say that the very latest steps are “in,’ while last year’s step are ‘out.’ Each boy and girl takes pride in learning newest things. They feel that this is important to remaining popular with their friends.

Years ago the dances of young people were not very different from those of their parents, but high school and college students of today have created their own music and have invented their own dances, thanks to people like Chubby Checker, the Beatles, and Elvis Presley. These musicians helped to make popular an exciting new kind of music that people began to dance to in a different way.

In the late 1950s Chubby Checker started a dance that he called the “twist.” The twist, like so many new dances, was lively, and people who performed it used a lot of energy. The word chubby means “a little bit fat,” which is why this singer and dancer called himself Chubby.

After demonstrating his new dance hundreds of times, however, Chubby was no longer chubby. This is one of the advantages. Even if older people do not like the new dances, they must agree that people get much more exercise from modern dances than they ever got from a waltz.

Slow parenting means parenting children in the contact of nature without any interference (干预) of materialistic influence. We can also term it as “self-raising”. In slow parenting children are allowed to do what they think proper and parents just keep a watch over the child. Curiosity of the child leads to exploring and discovering things. Parents provide little help only when it’s too necessary, otherwise keep themselves away from the child and just have a look on him/her: This brings about a feeling of self-dependency and they are encouraged to solve their problems.

This is a natural way of learning. When a child is left to learn in a natural environment, the child’s natural development takes place. Influence of any materialistic way doesn’t let the mind develop naturally. Watching TV, playing video games or joining classes of dance, swimming or any other sports will not let the mind develop naturally.

Here creativity of their mind is developed. They explore ideas. The logic behind this is that the kids of animals learn by nature, so can our kids. So let our children play in the garden, to watch flowers, plants, birds, butterflies and other gifts of nature. In the classes of dance, swimming etc. their creativity is influenced and their natural creativity is suppressed (压制). In these classes they are overburdened and can’t train their creativity. So let them play in the open air or garden without any burden instead of joining classes.

Generally parents give toys to their children and explain how to operate them. But those parents who believe in slow parenting give toys and observe how the children are managing them. Their skill to learn and understand comes out. Maybe the process is slow, but it will be their exploration, which will make them self-dependent, and self-capable to learn.

A.children should join some classes

B.slow parenting should be done in a logical way

C.exploring nature is a good way of slow parenting

D.children can’t learn by nature like the kids of animals

4.What is the passage mainly about?

A.Slow parenting and its advantages.
