Many teachers tell students ahead of time what the form of an exam will be. This can help you tailor (调整) how you study. For example,if you know you're going to have multiplechoice questions on World War II,you'll have to focus on studying facts and details. But if the exam contains essay questions, you'll want to think about which topics are most likely to be covered. Then come up with several possible essaytopics and use your notes, books and other reference sources to solve how you might answer questions on those topics.

As you study, review your notes and any special information from your textbook. Read things over several times if you need to,and write down any phrases or thoughts that will help you remember main ideas.

When trying to memorize dates, names or other information, keep in mind that it usually takes a number of tries to remember something correctly. That's one reason why it's a good idea to start studying in advance (提前) of a test.

In the case of math or science problems,do some practice to work out more problems. Pay special attention to anything the teacher seemed to stress (强调) in class.

Some people find there are many ways to help students to study. Work with a study partner and take turns to teach aloud. Another study way is making flashcards that summarize some of the important facts. Reading the textbook is a good way to prepare for a test. You can then use these to review for a test.

(   ) 1.Tom is going to take a test with multiplechoice questions on World War H,he should pay attention to reviewing         .

   A. essay questions   B. essay topics

   C. reference sources   D. facts and details

(   ) 3. If we are going to take a math test,we should         .

   A. practice working out more problems   B. write down thoughts

   C. remember the topics   D. memorize the details

(   ) 4. There are        ways to study for a test in the last paragraph.

   A. two   B. three

   C. four   D. five

(   ) 5. What is the main idea of the passage?

   A. The way of studying for tests depends on the type of the test we will take.

   B. We should learn different kinds of subjects in the same way.

   C. We should study hard by practicing in different ways.

   D. We'd better remember the form of the exam we will take.

For example,if you know you're going to have multiplechoice questions on World War Ⅱ,you'll have to focus on studying facts and details."

if the exam contains essay questions"的意思是"如果考试含有论述题",因此contain的意思是"包含"。

In the case of math or science problems,do some practice to work out more problems."

由题目中的关键词ways to study for a test in the last paragraph ,可回原文定位于最后一段。

Astronauts inAmericawho fly into space, need special training. First they go to Houston,Texas. That is the home of the Johnson Space Center. There they are tested to see how strong and smart they are.

The first test is for the heart. The people walk or run, then the space doctors see how fast their hearts beat.

Another important test is performed. In this test, the person must curl (蜷曲) his body up in a ball. When he is in that position,he is put into a round cloth bag. The astronauts also have to learn how to get lifted out of the ocean by helicopter (直升机) .That seems fun,but it can be dangerous.

After they finish training, the astronauts continue to work. They stay in good shape by running and doing exercise. They read about their special jobs. In this way, they can learn new facts about space travel.

Alibaba started taking the lead inChina, simply enough,by connecting big Chinese manufacturers (制造商) with big buyers across the world. Alibaba allows people to buy almost everything. Alibaba's advantage isn't hard to identify size. Alibaba is just big, even by Chinese standards. Its market has 231 million active buyers,8 million sellers,11. 3 billion orders a year―and Alibaba is just the middleman. It encourages people to use its market—without any money.

If you want a quick look into the influence of Alibaba on daily Chinese life, take my experience. I moved to Beijing almost a year ago and quickly got tired of visiting small stores across the crowded, polluted city of 20 million people in search of new electronics, bathroom furnishings and anything else my wife wanted. "You're looking for what exactly? Why not try it?" my Chinese teacher asked me one day.

With that,my wonderful new relationship with Alibaba began.

Alibaba's original business-to-business model now is secondary to consumer buying. Chinese retails 售) buying makes up 80% of Alibaba's income, and Taobao is leading that group, with 800 million iteir for sale and the most unbelievable selection of things you'll ever find. TMall. com is Alibaba's other bi site, where you can find goods of brands from Nike and Unilever at the lowest prices.

What I have a hard time explaining to friends and family back in theUSis howChinahas gone beyon traditional shopping-big-box retailers, especially in favor of online shopping on Taobao and a few oth ( sites. In smaller towns than Beijing, where big retailers have not yet traveled, people can go shoppin online.

I have a list of some of my recent shopping on Taobao for a sense of how wide the market is. Almo; everything arrived a day or two after ordering. I'm not even a big buyer, because I need friends to help rr search the Chineselanguage site. When I was searching my shopping history on my Chinese teacher's iPa which helps me buy goods,I looked through with great difficulty about 10 of her shopping for every one mine.

(   ) 1. Alibaba's advantage mainly lies in         .

   A. its big size   B. its business-to-business service

   C. its small sellers   D. its low price

(   ) 2. What can we learn from the underlined sentence in the passage?

   A. Alibaba is of middle size in all the online sites.

   B. Alibaba will continue to develop.

   C. Alibaba stands out as the best online site.

   D. Alibaba acts as a bridge between the buyers and sellers.

(   ) 3. What does the underlined word "it" in Paragraph 2 refer to?

   A. A new store. B. Alibaba. C. A business. D. A foreign website.

(   ) 4. What can be inferred from the passage?

   A. The writer's Chinese teacher is also an online shopping lover.

   B. Taobao has no obvious advantage over other similar online sites.

   C. Alibaba's business-to-business service earns more money than retail now.

   D. TMall. com earns more money than Taobao.

(   ) 5. What is the passage mainly about?

   A. Shopping online is Taobao.

   B. The influence of shopping online goes beyond traditional shopping.
