Chen Xiaoping, the general director of A Bite of China, said the purpose of this documentary is to let people know more about China through different kinds of foods.

A Bite of China aroused the interest of both people home and abroad in traditional Chinese cooking. Therefore, more and more people want to have a try cooking. They think cooking shows how rich China's cooking history and food culture are.

"The food reminds me of my hometown, my mum's cooking, and my childhood," said 28-year-old Wang Xin, one of the hundreds of thousands of viewers moved by the documentary.
