    The skin of the rootftop bubbles would be created from ETFE，an extremely durable（耐久的），lightweight material that will not rot（腐烂） over time．Each bubble would be filled with gas，allowing it to float．The entire structure would be shaped and fixed with steel supports．
    The project has received mixed reactions since it was first released in January．Some are supportive．But critics argue about the idea．Some people say the plan is simply unrealistic and，at best，would lead to two classes of citizens in polluted areas．Most probably only a wealthy few would gain access to the bubble，leaving the unlucky majority trapped in smog．
    Rajat Sodhi believes the reaction comes from those who want to solve environmental problems，though he says that isn't his goal and that he doesn't agree with them．He's an architect who creates living spaces，he thinks．The Bubbles project could work in a variety of areas where people are prevented from enjoying green，open spaces for much of the year．
    The firm's designers say that project is suitable for hot or cold climates．Mr Sodhi says，"There were basically no green areas in cities，so the air quality drops because there is no natural regeneration（再生）of the air．"

    Recite As You Study

    Study before going to bed，unless you are very tired．It's easier to remember material you've just learned after sleeping than after an equal period of daytime activity，because your brain continues to think even after you've fallen asleep．
    Combine Memory and Understanding
    There are two ways to remember：by memorizing and by understanding．Multiplication tables（乘法表），telephone numbers，and math formulas are better learned by memorizing，while ideas are best learned by understanding．
    The more ways you have to think about an idea，the more meaning it will have； the more meaningful the learning，the better you can remember it．Pay attention to similarities in ideas and concepts，and then try to understand how they fit in with things you already know．Never be satisfied with anything less than a completely clear understanding of what you are reading．If you are not able to follow the thought，go back to the place where you first got confused and try again．

    18．Have you ever heard of donating blood？Medical workers on board collect blood from volunteers．The blood is then stored up and given to people who have lost a large amount of it due to accidents or diseases．

    Unlike many other scientists，who have tried to make blood substitutes by mixing up different ingredients together，Turner chose to grow blood directly from human stem cells （干细胞）．He developed a special technique to create a chemical environment similar to that in our bone marrow （骨髓）．This environment encourages stem cells to develop fully into red blood cell．
    According to Turner，his version of artificial blood is unlikely to contain disease viruses or produce side effects．And the best part is that what he managed to produce was type O-blood．Not only is it a rare blood type，it's also a universal type，which means it can be transfused into any patient．
    The new blood is scheduled for human tests in 2016．However，Turner stressed that the new study should not be taken as a signal for people to stop donating blood because it could be another 20years before the artificial blood can be manufactured on a large scale．"It is one thing to bake a cake and another thing to bake a cake 100times the size，"said Turner．"It's not just a matter of putting in 100times the ingredients．"
