9.We are not born with courage, but neither are we born with fear.Maybe some of our fears are brought on by your own experiences,by what someone has told you,by what you've read in the papers. Some fears are reasonable, like walking alone in a bad part of town at two o'clock in the morning. But once you learn to avoid that situation, you won't need to live in fear of it.
Fears, even the most basic ones, can totally destroy our ambitions.Fear can destroy fortunes.Fear can destroy relationships.Fear,if left uncontrolled, can destroy our lives.Fear is one of the many enemies hidden inside us.
Let me tell you about five of the other enemies we face from within. The first enemy that you've got to destroy before it destroys you is indifference. What a tragic disease this is!"Ho-hum,let it slip.I'll just drift along."Here's one problem with drifting:you can't drift your way to the top of the mountain.
The second enemy we face is indecision.Indecision is the thief of opportunity and cause. It will steal your chances for a better future.Take a sword to this enemy.
The third enemy inside is doubt.Sure, there's room for healthy skepticism. You can't believe everything. But you can't let doubt take over, either. Many people doubt the past, doubt the future, doubt each other, doubt the government, doubt the possibilities and doubt the opportunities.Worse of all, they doubt themselves.I'm telling you, doubt will destroy your life and your chances of success. It will empty both your bank account and your heart.Doubt is an enemy.Go after it.Get rid of it.
The fourth enemy within is worry. We've all got to worry some.Just don't let it defeat you.Instead, let it alarm you.Worry can be useful. If you step off the sidewalk in New York City and a taxi is coming, you've got to worry. But you can't let worry loose like a mad dog that drives you into a small corner. Here's wh at you've got to do with your worries:drive them into a small corner.Whatever is out to get you, you've got to get it.Whatever is pushing on you, you've got to push back.
The fifth enemy inside is over-caution.It is the timid(胆怯) approach to life.Timidity is not a virtue; it's an illness. If you let it go,it'll defeat you.Timid people don't get promoted. They don't advance and grow. You've got to avoid over-caution.
Do battle with the enemies.Do battle with your fears.Build your courage to fight what's holding you back, what's keeping you from your goals and dreams.Be courageous in your life and in your pursuit of the things you want and the person you want to become.

Indecision(76)Robyou of opportunity, cause and your chances for a better future.Take a sword to it.
Doubt●Destroy your life and your chances of success.
●Empty your heart as(77)well as your bank account.

11.When I was seven my father gave me a Timex,my first watch.I loved it,wore it for years, and haven't had another one since it stopped ticking a decade ago. Why?Because I don't need one.I have a mobile phone and I'm always near someone with an iPod or something like that. All these devices(装置)tell the time-which is why,if you look around, you'll see lots of empty wrists; sales of watches to young adults have been going down since 2007.
But while the wise have realized that they don't need them,others-apparently including some distinguished men of our time-are spending total fortunes on them.Brands such as Rolex,Patek Philippe and Breitling command shocking prices,up to£250.000for a piece.
This is ridiculous.Expensive cars go faster than cheap cars.Expensive clothes hang better than cheap clothes. But these days all watches tell the time as well as all other watches.Expensive watches come with extra functions-but who needs them? How often do you dive to 300metres into the sea or need to find your direction in the area around the South Pole?So why pay that much of five years'school fees for watches that allow you to do these things?
If justice were done, the Swiss watch industry should have closed down when the Japanese discovered how to make accurate watches for a five-pound note.Instead the Swiss reinvented the watch, with the aid of millions of pounds'worth of advertising,as a message about the man wearing it.Rolexes are for those who spend their weekends climbing icy mountains; a Patek Philippe is for one from a rich or noble family; a Breitling suggests you like to pilot planes across the world.
Watches are now classified as"investments"(投资).A 1994Philippe recently sold for nearly?£350,000,while 1960s Rolexes have gone from?15,000to?30,000plus in a year. But a watch is not an investment. It's a toy for self-satisfaction,a matter of fashion.Prices may keep going up--they've been rising for 15years.But when of fashion.Prices may keep going up-they've been rising for 15years.But when fashion moves on,the owner of that?£350,000beauty will suddenly find his pride and joy is no more a good investment than my childhood Times.

58.The sales of watches to young people have fallen because theyA.
A.have other devices to tell the time
B.think watches too expensive
C.prefer to wear an iPod
D.hame no sense of time
59.It seems ridiculous to the writer thatD.
A.people dive 300metres into the sea
B.expensive clothes sell better than cheap ones
C.cheap cars don't run as fast as expensive ones

D.It's easy for the industry to reinvent cheap watches.
61.Which would be the best title for the passage?C
A.Timex or Rolex?
