    8．Grandpa was a carpenter （木匠）．One day he was making some boxes for the clothes，his church was sending to an orphanage （孤儿院） in Egypt．On his way home，he reached into his shirt pocket to find his glasses，but they were gone．He drove back to the church，but his search turned out to be fruitless．Suddenly，he realized what happened．The glasses had slipped out of his pocket and fallen into one of the boxes，which he had nailed shut．His new glasses were heading for Africa!Grandpa had six children and he had paid twenty dollars for the glasses that morning．"It's not fair，"he told God as he drove home．"I've been very faithful （忠诚的） in giving my time and money to your work．"
    Several months later，the director of the orphanage was on holiday in the United States．He wanted to visit all the churches that helped him in Egypt，so he came to speak on Sunday night at my grandfather's small church in Chicago．
    "But most of all，"he said，"I must thank you for the glasses you sent last year．You see，I had just broken my glasses．Then your boxes arrived．To my surprise，I found a pair of glasses in it and it fit me very well!"
    The people listened，happy for the amazing glasses，but thought that the man must have confused their church with another．There were no glasses on their list of items to be sent overseas．Sitting quietly in the back，with tears in his eyes，Grandpa realized that God had played a big trick on him．

    15．Summer school is something a kid will never forget．For some，it's a way to advance past their classmates．For most，summer school is a requirement in order to graduate with their classmates．I can remember being forced into taking a summer school course．It was not the school that forced me into this awkward situation，it was my mother．

    The fees were lowest but the experience was amazing．I enjoyed it so much that I didn't miss a day．The course was from Monday to Friday for an entire month．I passed the course with an A．I was thrown into an awkward situation and actually enjoyed it．My friends didn't even know I took the course．Most of them were still sleeping by the time my course ended each day．
    Awkward situations are so important for personal growth．This situation made me feel more independent．I made friends．I finally understood what sacrifice and hard work were all about．While attending college，I remembered how much I enjoyed summer school and I chose to take summer school in my first three years of college．Some kids get pushed too much but some don't get pushed enough．I was never pushed enough．
    Enable your children to struggle for success．If your child needs summer school you explain to them why it's important．Some parents are surprised by the situation and may want to be more involved in their children's education．Follow through and follow up．

       Quizzes，arts and crafts，fun in the gym and swims in the pool are not to be missed within  this week of fun．
    WEEK 6：Medal Medley（混战）（Tuesday 27th August to Friday 30th August）
       This week re-runs the best  bits of the last five weeks with  great team games  and  tournaments，action-packed  ball sports，floaty fun in the pool and adventures in the woods．
