    Life is not easy.     Life is not easy. As a student, we should learn how to protect ourselves in the school. When an earthquake happens, first we should calm down, which is the most important. Shouting and crying is of no use. Follow the teachers’ guidance and keep our actions in order. Second, hide beneath our desks with the schoolbags on our heads if we are in class. That can keep us a little safer. Be sure not to jump off the building. Third, if we are on the playground, don’t move. Sit on our feet and use hands to cover our heads so that they can be kept from being hit on. At last, help each other. Faced with natural disasters, individual power is tiny. Only by uniting can we overcome the difficulties. These are my suggestions. Keep them in mind and maybe some day we can survive in case of an earthquake!
    Another version:
    Life is not easy. As a student, we should learn how to protect ourselves in the school. When a fire breaks out, don’t forget to call 119 for help and tell the police the detailed address so that the firefighters can get there in time. Then we should try to find a safe exit to escape. Never take a lift because the electricity may be cut off if there is a fire, otherwise we will be trapped in the lift. Next, if we can’t find the way out, just stay in a room. Don’t open any hot door but stay close to the floor! As we all know, smoke can be more dangerous than fire. In many cases, the air near the floor is fresher. If possible, try to cover our mouths with wet towels to prevent taking too much heavy smoke and wait for rescue. There are my suggestions. Keep in mind and maybe some day we can survive in case of a sudden fire!

    Earth Hour is an annual international event set up by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and held on the last Saturday of March. It was first held in Australia in 2007, and achieved worldwide participation（参加） in 2008.
    Earth Hour 2008 was the biggest voluntary power down in history. More than 370 cities in 35 countries took part and celebrated Earth Hour in their local ways. Businesses, school groups, communities and individuals celebrated all over the world with candle-lit dinners, torch parties, and street celebrations. Symbolic(标志性的) buildings and landmarks went dark, including the Sydney Opera House, the Sears Tower, and the Coliseum in Rome.
    The WWF is sending a message to the people around the world that Earth Hour is the perfect opportunity for individuals, governments, schools, businesses and communities from all over to unite in a common purpose, and in response to a global issue that affects us all.

    Half of my summer vocation has passed. It's supposed to be the time for me, a senior- one student, to relax, read novels, chat with friends and, anyway, not to worry about getting up at 7 am for class.
    Even before the vocation, I had been arranged to attend different "enrichment" classes to improve my main subjects. My mum did ask for my opinion whether I would like to go to such classes. But could I refuse? My negative reply would cause a long persuasion, which I would not face.
    Besides, the teachers made summer homework lists as we were sent off for vocation. The reason sounds persuasive -- to keep us studying during the long break so we wouldn't forget our lessons.
    I found that the joy of my summer vocation had been stolen. But do I blame my mum or my teachers? Of course not. Though I don't like listening to my mum's lessons about society competition, I still understand that I should do well in study. What bothers me is that I don't feel like sitting in the classroom focusing my mind on the teachers' lectures. My mind is staying outdoors, tasting the freedom of the blue skies, the power of sunshine and the comfort of gentle wind....... not only scores or certificates.
