And there are existing methods, like a machine that can quickly identify chemicals in pills to confirm if the pills are real. Other ideas include things like special tracking codes for drug packages. People could send a text message with the code and get a message back proving that what they bought is listed in a database. Some drug makers and other companies put three-dimensional images called holograms (条形码) on their products as a security device.

    According to one study, words send only 7 percent of a person’s message.     Another part of nonverbal communication is the one that you might not think about — space. When someone comes too close, he feels uncomfortable. For example, in casual conversation, many Americans stand about four feet apart. People in Latin or Arabic cultures, instead, stand very close to each other and touch each other often.

    An accurate prediction (预报) system will allow authorities (官方) to issue timely warnings and save lives in the event of a shore-bound tsunami. But forecasting tsunamis accurately is very difficult because the ocean is usually calm before they strike land.
