Encourage the students to give as many words as possible. Classify the words into different groups while writing them on the blackboard.

Step 2 Talk about Daniel’s friend

Ss listen to the tape and try to answer the following questions:

Step 4  Reading the article

1) Ss read the article quickly and try to answer the following Qs:

 Why does Daniel think he/she is his best friend?

What’s her personality ?

2) Get the students to read the article aloud and get them to identify the four paragraphs in the article. Help them to identify the purpose of each paragraph. Help the students to focus on some of the wonderful sentences, because they may need them for their own writing. Encourage them to make up new sentences. Such as :

I like her bright, smiling eyes. They make her look really pretty and kind.
Her bright, smiling eyes make her look really pretty and kind.
She always wears a smile on her face and looks happy.

Step 5  Doing an activity

Vote for our monitor:

1) First, get students to think of what kind of person can be a good monitor. Focus on the personality and ability.

2) Choose one student to be a new monitor. Group members work together and discuss about the student’s appearance, personality and ability.

Give the students a general structure for them to follow and organize their ideas.

Step 1 Revision:

T helps the students to revise how to talk about their future plans.

3) Why?

4) What will you do to fulfill your aims?

1) Present the task today by playing a game.

l     Divide the students in four groups,

l     The teacher gives the first student a paper on which there’s a story, ask the first student to read it carefully and then pass the story on orally.

l     At last ask the last student to tell the story that he get to the whole class, and then the teacher will read the story to class, ask them to find out the differences between the two stories.

Step 3 Reading.
