Qu Yuan was very sad. He jumped into Miluo River (汨罗江) in Hunan province on the fifth day of the fifth lunar (农历) month. The people respected and loved Qu Yuan very much. They rowed the boats and tried to find Qu Yuan. But they didn't find him. They didn't want the fish to eat Qu Yuan's body. So they threw many rice cakes into the river to feed the fish.
From then on (从那时起), people eat rice cakes and row dragon boats on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month to remember Qu Yuan.
