When I was a little child， I learned many kinds of skills. I learned how to do chores around the house， some first aid and outdoor survival skills. There's one skill that's really useful in everyday life—basic home repair (维修).
Taking care of repairs around the house is very satisfying (令人满意的). It might be difficult at first， but when you know more about your tools， it becomes easier.
Once， I had some problems with the showerhead (淋浴喷头) in my bathroom. I didn't call a repairman to replace (替换) it—who knows how much money the repairman would want me to pay for it? So I bought a new showerhead and replaced it myself.
The task was so simple that it only took me several minutes. As I fixed the new showerhead on， I felt a sense of achievement. Of course， there are lots of repairs that are more difficult. My brother， for example， has repaired the TV set in his house many times. With the help of online instructional videos， he has saved thousands of dollars on repairman fees (费用) over the years. Skills like these can save us money and make us more independent.
