教学步骤
Step 1 Revision
Revise the use of ‘more/fewer/less…than’ and ‘the most/fewest/least’.
Students use the real objects (school things or the objects in the classroom) to make as many sentences as they can by using these phrases.
Step 2 Practice
(1). Use the real object “paper clip ” and present it to the students and then teach this word. Students read this word after the teacher.
(2). Look at the pictures on Page 37. Talk about the pictures with the students. Ask students some questions about these pictures
1) How many pencilboxes can you see ?
2) Whose pencilboxes are these ? Do you know?
3) What colour is Millie’s pencilbox?
4) What colour is Amy’s pencilbox?
5) What colour is Kitty’s pencilbox?
6) What colour is Simon’s pencilbox?
7) What’s in Millie’s pencilbox? And how many?
8) What’s in Amy’s pencilbox? And how many?
9) What’s in Kitty’s pencilbox? And how many?
10) What’s in Simon’s pencilbox? And how many?
(3)Use the phrases “be the same as” and “be different from”. Students make some comparisons.
eg. Millie’s pencil box is the same size as Amy’s pencil box.
Amy’s pencil box is the same colour as Kitty’s pencil box?
Amy has fewer pencils than Simon.
Simon has more paper clips than Kitty.
Kitty’s rubber is different from Simon’s rubber.
(4) Ask students in groups to make as many sentences as they can
Point out: “the same size as ” “the same colour as ”
Step 3 Part B on Page 37
(1)Read the words and phrases in the form
(2)Play a word game with students. Students put the words into the correct word groups
Sports: swimming softball basketball table tennis
Stationery: ruler pencil paper rubber
School subjects: Geography Maths History Science
Schools and students: mixed school high school secondary school
Step 4 Homework
Write an article about your ideal school/school life.

3. Get the students to read the sample article by Daniel and figure out the ways or the structure that they can follow to write about their own ideal school. Use the following questions to help the students.
(1) When does it finish ?
(2) Why does he think it is his ideal school?
(3) How long do they have lunch?
(4) What can they do in the big dining hall?
(5) What do they eat every day?
(6) What subjects does Daniel like to have? Why?
(7) How many students are there in each class?
(8) What’s in his ideal school? There is a park, a shopping mall, a big library , a tennis court and a swimming pool.
(9) Do they have homework at weekends?
(10) How often do they go on a trip to a museum or a theatre?
Step 4 Writing
Tell the students that they can write their own article following the structure. Get the students to read the passage and pick up some useful sentence patterns. Show some writings of theirs
Step 5 Homework
Go on finishing writing
