It was Peter and his little brother. "Come in! Share the cookies with us," Ma called out warmly. Now there were 4 children. When we divide 24 by 4, each child got 6 cookies.
The doorbell rang again soon after. This time, two more friends arrived, waving excitedly. "Hi! Can we join the cookie party?" they asked. Ma nodded happily. Now 6 children were sharing 24 cookies. If we divide 24 by 6, each child had 4 cookies.
Before they could even take a bite, the doorbell rang a third time. Six more kids rushed in, all smiling and eager. "Sorry to interrupt, but we heard there are delicious cookies!" Ma smiled and said, "The more, the happier!" Now there were 12 children. When we divide 24 by 12, each child got 2 cookies.
Victoria and Sam looked a bit worried. What if the doorbell rang again? Just then, it did! But this time, Grandma stood there with a box of 24 more cookies. "I heard you needed help sharing!" she laughed. With Grandma's 24 cookies added, there were 48 cookies in total for 12 children. If we divide 48 by 12, each child got 4 cookies.
The children cheered loudly. Sharing was so much fun, especially with Grandma's sweet surprise!
