April 1^st is western traditional April Fool’s Day. On that day people can play jokes on each other. But do you know not all jokes can be played in western countries ? In western countries people only play jokes which are not important. Newspaper ,radio stations are even more careful. They can’t play jokes on serious and important events . Also ,jokes are only played until noon.

　 After that time people should stop playing and announce what they did is only a joke.

2．(1) Look at the pictures and talk about Ming’s Day . The teacher may give out some words and phrases (wake up　 by bike　 get to school　 tell　 have lunch　 watch TV

go to sleep ). After a few minutes , ask one or two students to say out their stories.

　 (2) Ask the students to try to write out the story.

This morning Ming overslept. When she woke up , it had been already 10:00. She thought she was late for school and she rushed off to school by bike . By the time she arrived at school she realized it was Sunday . Then she spent most time with her friends and she had a meal with her relatives . After that she watched TV and then she went to bed.
