Stepⅲ. Pair work (12 minutes)
There is a chart in Activity 3b Section A, so I will ask the students to complete the chart by asking their partners with the following questions:
① What’s your favorite subject (e.g. science) ?
② Why do you like (science) ?
③ Who is your (science) teacher?
Then, after their discussion, I will ask several pairs of students to act out their conversations for the class.
Stepⅳ. Practice------ Do a survey (10 minutes)
Now, it comes to the step of doing a survey as a practice. Here, I will ask the students to complete the chart with their parents’ favorite things. Then talk about their parents with classmates.
This activity provided communicative practice using the target language, thus it will help the students consolidate the learned knowledge.
Stepⅴ. Summary and Homework (3 minutes)
The last step is the summary and homework. First I will spend two minutes in repeating the new words and strengthening the target language to help students attain the knowledge objective. Then it comes to the homework.
(1) Recite the new words
(2) Do a survey about your good friend’s favorite things.
(3) According to the survey, write a short article about your good friend.
