2. 情态动词can

　　 can是情态动词，表示“能，会”。没有人称和数的变化。其后跟动词原形。

(1)can用于陈述句，表示能干，有能力做某事。

　　 I can throw the shot put.

　　 He can play basketball.

　　 (2)后加not构成否定形式，可缩写成can’t或cannot。

I can’t swim.

She can’t climb a rope.

　　 (3)can放在句首，构成一般疑问句，询问别人是否可以干某事，也表示请求对方允许。

Can you play tennis?　 Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.
