Work in pairs.
Ask students to practice the conversation using the things on their desk or
other things. Ask three pair to present their conversations in front of the
class and choose the best pair.

Play a guessing game: Collect some items from students and place them on the desk. Cover the eyes of a volunteer. Give him one item from the desk and ask him to touch it. The other students ask:

Review the grammar box. Ask students to make up dialogues with the questions and answers by holding up different stationery.

Point out the comma used in the short answers. Explain that the words Yes and No are always followed gy a comma when they are used at the beginning of a sentence. Point out that yes/no questions use rising intonation. Your voice rises at the end of these questions.

Revise the dialogues in the last unit. Make up some conversations with different students.
Step 2
Learn the new words
Show the new words in the slide show. Ask Ss to try to read them by themselves. Then read after the teacher twice. Give them a few minutes to remember and write the new words. Then check them out, using the slide show.
Step 3 Presentation
Hold up a girl’s pencil and ask: --- “What’s this?” ---“It’s a pencil.” ---- “What’s this in English?” ----“It’s a pencil.” ----“Is this your pencil?” (Help to answer) ----“Yes, it is. It’s my pencil.” (Help to answer) Ask another girl with the same pencil and ask the same question, help to answer “No, it isn’t. It’s her pencil.
Step 4 Practice
Change to other stationery and make the dialogues, lead to some new words. Ask students to repeat: pencil, pen, book, eraser, ruler, pencil, pencil case, backpack, pencil sharpener, dictionary. Then ask students to match the words and objects in the picture. Check the answer. Then ask some pairs to practice the dialogue in font of the class.

Listen to the tape on Page 7, Activity 1b. Then practice the conversations above.

Listen and check the things you hear, Activity 2a.
