When Purna sat up, he saw broken pottery all around him on the floor. He picked up a piece of the broken pottery. It looked old and valuable. Many other broken jars(罐子)also looked expensive. (2)

Purna got up to run away. But his foot got caught in the door. CRASH! Purna fell to the floor again.

"What happened here?" he said. "How did my jars get broken?"
"I'm so sorry." Purna pulled(拉)at his foot until it came out of the door. "I will pay for all the jars."

He had hoped to advise Purna to accept them in payment(赔偿)for the lost elephant. He made them look old because he thought Purna would like them that way.
Babu had a new idea. He cried, "I want my broken pots back. Why did you break down my door and break my pots?"
"I was angry," Purna said. "I'll pay for them."
"I don't want the money. I want my pots," Babu said.
