It's fun to go to the school library to choose a book. For some children who live in Kenya in Africa, the library has to come to them. Their small villages are far from towns, so a camel (骆驼) library visits them.
In 1996, the Kenya National Library had this creative idea. At first, the camel library started with two camels carrying about 200 books. Today, 9 camels are divided (分) into 3 teams. Each week, from Monday to Thursday, these teams set off as a mobile library. One camel can carry two boxes, with each box holding 200 books. The other two camels carry the daily needs for people to live in the desert.
The camel library travels 11 kilometers a day. When it arrives, children and adults (成人) run forward and borrow books. The library provides storybooks and textbooks for children, while adults can find books on farming and other useful things. Borrowers can keep two books for 14 days. If someone fails to return (归还) the books on time, the village will not be allowed to borrow books in the future.
1. Why does the camel library visit the villages in Kenya?
2. How often does a camel library send books in the desert?
3. How many books does a camel carry each time now?
4. What will happen if someone doesn't return books on time?
5. How do children and adults in Kenya feel when the camel library arrives?
答案:1. Because the villages are far from towns.
2. From Monday to Thursday each week.
3. 400.
4. The village can't borrow books in the future.
5. Excited.
